Project Description
The National Alliance for Rare Diseases Support – Malta (RDM) participated during the European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW) 2021 by raising more awareness about the cause of rare diseases. This project was based on creating awareness and engaging with the local community so as to identify persons/families with a rare disease/condition, giving them support and making sure they are not falling in the poverty line.
This project took place in the center of the community of Marsa on Friday, 24 September 2021. We have chosen the Marsa community for this project since it is a village that we feel needs more attention than others. It also welcomes people of different nationalities and has a diverse socio-economic community. Throughout this project, RDM focused on 3 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (good health and wellbeing, quality education and reduced inequalities).
