Rest easy, our dear Bernard

Project Description

Rest easy, our dear Bernard. We still cannot believe you have left us …just like that. Only a month ago, we were still standing together in court, fighting for your rights.
Our cause is not an easy one. Trying to convince those who remain uninterested does not limit us , it might disheartens us at times. Yet we will not stop. Others may join the cause only when it becomes “fashionable,” for some quick self-promotion. But that’s not who we are.
We will continue our work quietly and sincerely — with patients like you, Bernard — in private messages, small groups, and moments that truly matter. Not for drama, but for dignity.
All those who met you know what a remarkable, intelligent, and kind man you were. You were brave enough to reach out to us, and you treated us not just as advocates, but as friends.
We loved your excitement while travelling this summer and how eager you were to share your stories and adventures. You even joined our summer fundraiser, though you hesitated at first, worrying that sitting through the evening might make it less lively. We told you we would dance and we did, making it a night to remember.
We will miss your cheerful good mornings and good nights on our chat. But we take comfort in knowing that you’re now free again ..exploring, hiking, and wandering through the great outdoors you loved so dearly.
Rest easy, Bernard.
And if you can, send a butterfly or two our way to remind us that your spirit is still with us, quietly guiding and inspiring our steps. 🦋💔
💙Bernard was laid to rest on Tuesday 11th November at 8.30 am at Zabbar Parish Church 💙
